Shreveport Mass Shooting in Cedar Grove Leaves Multiple Dead, Including Children
A tragic mass shooting in Shreveport has left at least eight people dead, including young children, as authorities investigate a suspected domestic-related incident in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.
According to Shreveport Police Department, the shooting unfolded early Sunday morning along West 79th Street near Linwood Avenue. Victims reportedly range in age from just 18 months to 14 years old, highlighting the devastating impact of the violence. Two adult women also sustained gunshot wounds to the head but survived, while a young boy was injured after jumping from a roof in an attempt to escape.
Police confirmed that the suspected gunman, described as an adult male, is also deceased. He was reportedly shot at a separate but related scene in Bossier Parish.
Investigators have identified at least three connected crime scenes, including one on Harrison Street and another in Bossier Parish near Brompton Lane and Long Acre Drive. Authorities say evidence suggests the incident may be domestic in nature, though the full circumstances remain under investigation.
